Support for government primary school, Genguarpatti, Theni
This school was started in the year 2006 with only 2 class rooms. Now there are 41 students, out of which 39 are from SC/ST background, 1MBC and 1BC. They are all from very poor background. The school has just 1 building, no toilet facilities and no water connection as of now. This school is near the road where a 4 lane road is proposed. Due to that proposal, government kept on refusing to give land for developing toilet facilities. The school has just 2 teachers - 1 HM and 1 AHM. They both are taking care of all students now. Asst HM Mr Ananthan is taking initiative in developing the school's basic infrastructure facilities. He has taken steps and got about 4 cents little away from school for toilet building. Through Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Scheme, they are going to build the toilet facility. Soon they will be able to get water facility also with the same scheme. HM has decided to help the school students with the uniforms, bags, slippers and notebooks. HM trust has given Rs. 20000 on Dec 20 2010 towards this.
