Support for government primary school, Genguarpatti, Theni

This school was started in the year 2006 with only 2 class rooms. Now there are 41 students, out of which 39 are from SC/ST background, 1MBC and 1BC. They are all from very poor background. The school has just 1 building, no toilet facilities and no water connection as of now. This school is near the road where a 4 lane road is proposed. Due to that proposal, government kept on refusing to give land for developing toilet facilities. The school has just 2 teachers - 1 HM and 1 AHM. They both are taking care of all students now. Asst HM Mr Ananthan is taking initiative in developing the school's basic infrastructure facilities. He has taken steps and got about 4 cents little away from school for toilet building. Through Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Scheme, they are going to build the toilet facility. Soon they will be able to get water facility also with the same scheme. HM has decided to help the school students with the uniforms, bags, slippers and notebooks. HM trust has given Rs. 20000 on Dec 20 2010 towards this.

Uniform for Ayyalur GHSS students

The Government School in Ayyalur,Dindigul District is in a remote area. There is no proper bus facility to this school. There are about 1200 students from nearby villages, studying in this school. The teachers are hard working and utilizing the Government funds allotted for the school in proper manner. We got a request for help for the uniforms for the students of this school. There are many students who are from poor family and are in need of uniform, some students are coming to school with colour dress since the uniform given by government is not in good condition and not in proper size. We have selected the most deserving students among these and provided Rs. 10100 towards the uniform cost for these students on 28th Jan 2010. Our member Balamanikandan co-ordinated the works regarding this request.

Uniform request for Mayanoor school

There is a government school at Mayanoor village at Karur district. This is a primary school with classes from 1st to 5th, having 72 boys and 65 girl students. It was established as a model school in 1980; has 3 separate buildings and 5 classrooms. Fishing is the main job in this place; Kavery dam is near this village. But for a total of about 140 students, there are only 2 teachers in this school including a head master. A trust named 'India Sudar' has arranged for 2 more additional teachers (each with about Rs. 1000 monthly salary) for this school recently.
The Head Master of the school requested for uniform for about 50 students who are not able to afford it. HM has provided the uniform material for the same and also the stitching cost. The total expenses for this request are Rs. 10330.
The Head Master has sent the acknowledgement letter and the photo of the students.
