HM Request for Uma

Our member Srikanth got to know about this request through Suyam trust.

Uma is doing second year in BSc nursing. Her father died 2 years back and was left with her mother who was doing household work for their living. She faced the shock of her life when her mother died 3 months back and was left as orphan. She is under the care of her relatives who only feed her and take care of her expenses. The relative who is taking care is also not well off and is earning Rs. 1500 per month in some soda factory. The total fee to be paid is 70K by July. Suyam along with some other NGO helped her for her first year in BSc nursing.

HM has given Rs. 10000 towards her college fees on 19-Jun-07.

Continuing help for Vijay Madhav for the year 2007

HM had helped Vijay Madhav for the last semester. Vijay is doing third year diploma in PSB polytechnic at Kelambakkam. He is a brilliant student; he has scored 525/600 in 4th semester and has secured first mark in his branch.

We hve got the request for help for this year too. HM has given Rs. 10000 for his fees on 8-Jun-07.

Continuing help for Thanasekaran for the year 2007

HM had helped Thanasekaran for his MBBS Fees last year. This year too we have got the request for continuing help. He has scored around 65% marks in his first year. He has not yet got the second year marks. He has promised to get better marks in this year. HM has given Rs. 10000 for his fees on 7-Jun-07.

School fees for Jeevika students for the year 2007

HM had helped Jeevika home for the notebooks for their kids last year. They requested for the school fees for the kids for this year. HM has given Rs. 17600 for the school fees for 15 students from Jeevika.

School fees for Precious Ones kids for year 2007

HM has helped Rs 10000/- for annual fees for the kids of Precious Ones home, at Urapakkam, near Tambaram, for last two years. This year too they have requested for help from Helping Minds trust. They have 8 kids now.

Helping Minds has given Rs. 9760 towards the school fees for 3 kids on 4-Jun-07.

HM Request for Vetrikumaran

Vetrikumaran, doing second year B.Tech in 'Petroleum Refining and Petrochemicals', Anna University, was referred by an Anna Univ Professor to us. He has scored very good marks in 12th(95%). He has opted for a self supporting course (without much awareness) and hence he is not eligible for scholarships (though he is eligible for first graduate scholarship otherwise). He is a very dedicated student. In the summer vacation too, he is currently working with a professor on a paper presentation work. His father is a carpenter. He hails from Endiyur near Tindivanam.

Helping Minds has given Rs. 7510 towards his hostel fees for this semester on 4-Jun-07.

HM Request for Ramya

Ramya is doing second year B.Com at Valliammal College for Women at Villivakkam. Her father was in coma state for few years and died in 1999 due to heart attack. Her family is struggling as only her mother is the only earning person, that too a flower seller. One younger brother is studying in 8th standard.

Ramya had scored 75% in twelveth. As Ramya was not having much awareness once she completed schooling, she didn't apply for any college. She has applied to Valliammal College only at the last moment that too with the guidance from some people. She has joined Valliammal with the help from few people and completed first year. The fees for this year is Rs. 7000 (BCom II year). She has scored 60% in the first year. She was from tamil medium school so had struggled to score well in first year. She hopes to score better in the coming years. Helping Minds has paid the fees for Ramya for this year on 23-May-07.

Mess bills for Hari, Milkkal and Periyasamy - May 2007

For the month of May, HM has paid Rs. 3756 (2 months mess bill Rs. 756, Rs. 900 and exam fees Rs. 2100) for Milkkal on 16 May, Rs. 756 for the mess bill for Hari and Rs. 1650 for the mess bill for Periyasamy on 17 May.
